The Constitutional Court resumed hearings on Monday in the case to ban opposition parties. Zaza Bibilashvili, representing the United National Movement, said the lawsuit rests on selectively gathered facts and biased interpretations and called the claim that the party planned to seize power by force absurd, citing Saakashvili's 2007 resignation and early elections. Court chair Revaz Nadaraia rebuked Bibilashvili for questioning the court's impartiality.

Court proceedings are ongoing; no ruling has been made. Reported by 1TV (public broadcaster) and Interpressnews.
