Russia declares Georgian opposition party Droa an 'undesirable organisation'
Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has designated Droa, the opposition party led by Elene Khoshtaria, an 'undesirable organisation', citing its 'Russophobic' positions and its opposition to normalising Georgia–Russia relations. Droa supports reintroducing visas for Russian citizens and suspending direct flights to Russia, and describes Abkhazia and South Ossetia as Russian-occupied territories. Under Russian law the designation restricts the group's activities in Russia and exposes people involved to legal penalties. Khoshtaria is currently serving an 18-month prison sentence.
