Designboom: Stefano Boeri to turn a former Tbilisi locomotive factory into a green neighbourhood
Italian studio Stefano Boeri Architetti has won an international competition to convert a former Soviet-era locomotive factory in Tbilisi into Loco Park, a residential neighbourhood on a 73,600 m² site, for the developer LOCO Alliance. The masterplan includes nine residential buildings, shared gardens, public parks, pedestrian routes, a boulevard and a 'sports forest', with shops, cafés and workshops on the ground floors. No completion date has been given.
